IF YOU ARE
PLANNING TO SPEAK AT
THE INQUIRY......
Maidstone Borough
Council have now
appointed a
Programme Officer
for the Public
Inquiry. Anyone
wishing to speak at
the Inquiry must
contact her to
register: Brenda
Taplin 01403 219892
email:
BrendaTaplin@personaassociates.co.uk
If you have not
already let us know
that you are
intending to speak,
please do so. This
is at the Planning
Inspector's request.
We are holding two
guidance sessions
for speakers on the
18th and 19th
September, offering
assistance with
subject matter and
general 'speaking'
hints. The Planning
Inspector wishes to
avoid too much
duplication, and has
said he will stop
any speaker if he
has already heard
the information from
someone else, so you
could lose your
chance to make a
crucial point if the
start of your speech
is too similar to
others. Please do
consider attending
one of these
guidance sessions.
IF YOU ARE
THINKING ABOUT
SPEAKING BUT NOT
SURE WHAT TO SAY....
We would like as
many people as
possible to speak as
this will
demonstrate the
strength of feeling
about KIG. If you
are prepared to do
so, but need
assistance with the
subject matter, we
would really like to
hear from you now!
Email
secretary@stopkig.org.
Guidance sessions
are being held to
assist you. Details
as above .
POSTERS POSTERS
POSTERS!!!
It is VERY important
that lots of posters
are on display in
windows. We can put
them up along the
roads but ONLY YOU
can put them in your
window, on your
fence, wall, tree or
gate! They have much
more impact when
displayed
prominently in
individual
properties.
The Planning
Inspector will
shortly be making an
'unofficial' visit
to the site and
surrounding area, so
we need a good show
of strength. You can
print one off from
the website, or
collect an A3 or A4
copy free from
Taylors at Bearsted
Green. Bearsted News
on the A20 and
Christopher's in
Hollingbourne. Take
some for your
neighbours too. If
you are unable to
collect one
personally, please
email us and we will
try to get one to
you. FREE laminated
posters available
for outside use.
ATTEND THE PUBLIC
INQUIRY
We want to show the
Planning Inspector
just how many people
do not want this
development, and
need as many as
possible to attend
the Public Inquiry.
It commences on
Tuesday 13th October
and runs for
approximately 8
weeks from Tuesday
to Friday each week,
except in the
October Half term,
when the Inquiry
will only sit on the
29th and 30th
October. It will be
held at the Ramada
Hotel on the 13th &
14th October only,
and then move to
Kent House, in
Romney Place,
opposite the
Chequers Centre
multi-storey car
park entrance We
need people to
volunteer to attend
for as many morning,
afternoon or whole
day sessions as
possible.
