Call for Witnesses
27/03/2009

We have now received confirmation that the Public Inquiry will commence on the 15th September 2009. It is expected to last 24 days ie 6 weeks. Anyone may speak at the Inquiry, either as an expert witness or as a concerned member of the public. Those who wish to speak on a professional basis will need to submit 6 copies of their Statement of Case to the Inspector by 29th May. A Detailed Proof of Evidence must then be sent to the Inspector 4 weeks before the Inquiry start date. Be aware that you may need to spend a considerable time at the Inquiry and you must be prepared to be cross-examined on your evidence. Those members of the public who wish to speak will need to attend the first day of the Inquiry to register, and you will then be given a date on which to speak. Further guidance is available if needed, so please email us at secretary@stopkig.org, and we will contact you about the procedure to be followed, and how the Inquiry process works.

We would encourage members of the public to speak at the Inquiry, to show the strength of feeling against this proposed development.

As said in our last email, we are strengthening our supporter database, so please ensure that ALL members of your household are registered. There are now lines for several names at one address on the registration form on the website. We also need volunteers to help with our distribution network, and would ask you to read the "How You Can Help" page on this site. WE REALLY NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE AT THIS TIME. We welcome any offers of help, as we are working flat out to fight off this proposal and extra hands are always needed. Even if you can only assist occasionally we would like to hear from you.
